Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets in the 55th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at Wankhede Stadium with Suryakumar Yadav scoring a marvellous century on Monday.
MI recorded their fourth win of the season and managed to go to the ninth position in the IPL points table while SRH remained on fourth. Kolkata Knight Riders stayed at the summit with 16 points.

Suryakumar proved once again why he is one of the best players in T20 cricket as the right-handed batter scored 102 runs on 51 balls with the help of 12 fours and six sixes at a whopping strike rate of 200.00.
After MI suffered early blows as three of their top-order batters — Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Naman Dhir — walked back to the pavilion scoring leaving their side 31/3 in 4.1 overs, Suryakumar and Tilak Varma took charge of the chase and took their team over the line.
Meanwhile batting first, Travis Head top scored for SRH, scoring 48 on 30 balls while their skipper Pat Cummins contributed 35 runs on 17 balls down the order and steered his side to a 173-run total.
It must be noted Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings are the joint-most successful teams in IPL history, with both sides clinching the title five times each.
Aside from these two, KKR has triumphed twice, while Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, and Deccan Chargers have each lifted the trophy once.
Despite boasting legendary figures in the shorter format such as Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Jacques Kallis, and others, Royal Challengers Bangalore have yet to claim the title despite reaching the final thrice in 2009, 2011, and 2016.
